Free People To Open At Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center

The specialty fashion retailer joins Skokie’s ultimate fashion destination.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) - Lifestyle brand, Free People, will bring its eclectic apparel to Skokie, Illinois’ ultimate shopping destination, Westfield Old Orchard, on January 15th, 2016. At 4,528 gross square-feet, Free People’s distinctive product assortment will be the perfect addition to the outdoor shopping center. In addition to stocking the signature bohemian styles the brand is known for, the boutique’s opening assortment will highlight both an ‘FP Collection’ shoe shop, as well as an ‘Intimately Free People’ section, the brand’s popular line of bras, undies, slips, seamless layering pieces, and loungewear. This will be brand’s 115th boutique across the United States and Canada.

The new boutique will be designed in the brand’s ‘Black Smith’s Cottage’ concept. Designed to feel like the Free People girl’s workshop, the space features a mix of rugged elements and feminine details throughout. Customers will be welcomed through an angled steel storefront system with custom door handles. Atop a white painted brick façade, a large cast bronze ‘Free People’ sign will greet customers through double doors. Inside the space, reclaimed wide plank white pine flooring will be installed, changing direction to follow the architectural elements of the detailed ceiling overhead. Dark hemlock beams and columns will also help delineate the space for easy customer navigation. Towards the back of the boutique, 7 fitting rooms with distinctive coin curtains will be installed, illuminated by special Del Amo lanterns in each stall. Customers will be able to check out via 3 point of sale cashwraps which feature a ‘Black Smith Cottage’ inspired custom backwrap showcasing an artful installation of yarn filled cubbies. Distinctive wall finishes, including mica plaster walls, white wood cladding, soft maple joists, and the use of skylights emphasize the workshop theme.

At opening, Free People Old Orchard will be stocked with an assortment of fashionable spring styles highlighting a soft color palette of ivories, blush, blues, and taupes. A strong selection of spring dresses will be available in various silhouettes, including body-con staples, shapeless wears, and maxi styles. A retro inspired vibe that stays true to the Free People girl, with retro floral prints, wrapping details in tops and dresses, and off-the-shoulder selections will be merchandised throughout the boutique. Those getting their closets ready for the upcoming season will also be excited to shop the brand’s latest assortment of bodysuits, layering tops, high-waisted mini-skirts, and ruffle tops. The boutique will have a ‘Blue Jean Baby’ denim shop with some of the brand’s favorite denim fits, including high-waisted skinnies, straight legs, flares, wide-legs, and overalls, as well as denim fashion styles across all classes including dresses, tops, and jackets. Mixed within the assortment, customers can look forward to finding unique hand touched details in embroidery, artisanal stipes, and bandana prints. A dedicated ‘FP Collection’ shoe shop will highlight a desirable selection of boots, including tall, ankle, and heeled styles, as well as flats, heels, and wedges. The brand’s popular ‘Intimately Free People’ line will also have a shop within the space. In accessories, lieutenant hats, skinny scarves, ponchos, wide brimmed hats, and assorted bags will be the focus.

The new store will have a Grand Opening Celebration on opening day, Friday, January 15th from 6-8pm.
