Shoppers can also add their Target REDcards to Google Express for 5 percent off most orders.

Google has announced that users of Google Assistant-powered devices like Google Home and Android TV can now shop Target’s web site via voice through Google Express from anywhere in the continental U.S., and Target is one of more than 50 retailers who are adding the ability to place orders via Google Express on these devices.

In a blog post, Google wrote, “We launched Google Express and shopping on the Google Assistant to help you shop your favorite stores, and today we’re making it even easier with the expansion of Target – now available on Google Express nationwide. We’re also bringing shopping with the Google Assistant to your phone.”

Now, customers can get and reorder their favorite items and brands from Target with 2-day delivery and free shipping on orders over $35. Target has already been testing the home delivery service in California and New York, but now the service is rolling out to the continental United States.

Additionally, Google and Target said starting in 2018, shoppers will be able to add their Target REDcards to Google Express to receive 5% off most Target orders, along with free shipping. Target customers also can opt in to receive personalized recommendations and a quick re-order experience based on past Target purchases.

In a Target statement, the retailer explained, “Target guests can simply rattle off their Target shopping list while this dutiful device takes their orders. Plus, next year guests can choose to link their Target.co and Google accounts, so the service will remember all your fave items.” And next year, customers will also have the option to have their Google Express orders picked up in a Target store two hours after the order is placed.

Target also said that it was teaming with Google to “create innovative digital experiences using voice and other cutting-edge technologies to elevate Target’s strength in style areas such as home, apparel, and beauty.” While no concrete announcements have yet been made, it is clear that Target is making real strides towards the integration of technology into its customer experience.

Google says, “With Google Express and your Google Assistant, shopping is easier no matter where you are or what device you’re using. So go ahead and stock up.”
